A man is haunted by the falling of a piano most everywhere he goes, accompanying memories that wash over him with each imploding ivory key. Cursed to give people their fondest desire should they ask, he travels searching for relief from the burden of the task- for should he quit, those closest to him receive the opposite of their dearest wish.
A man finds himself unwillingly the main character in a book- this one, in particular. He knows this as does everyone he interacts with, and it irritates him. Not especially fond of being the author's puppet, he finds his storyline trite and wants badly to subvert it any way possible. Breaking his intended narrative, he becomes determined to place himself within the most extreme and unlikely-to-succeed plot device he can think of, figuring the author will have to either write him safely out of any given situation or end the book prematurely. He settles on breaking into the hitherto impenetrable Fort Knox gold reserve. Hilarity ensues.
A little girl stares with her hand against a window, wishing to be let out, promising she'll be good.
A postal worker inadvertently finds a letter that was supposed to be delivered has fallen into her mailbag by accident, and decides to open it.
Driving home on a hot and rainy night, a couple realizes the tremendous tidal wave of molasses approaching their vehicle is unavoidable.
In a rear-view mirror, the creature first approaches at a speed that seems impossible. Glancing once more, it is now in the back seat.
And in a room in a house somewhere, it is raining quite hard.

2023: Going to be a big year for writing in this world- stay tuned!
Happy March, 2021! It's an exciting time, with much happening and updates long overdue. Quite a few additions to the r.august world- a novelization from a screenplay is in the works with a completion date of Summer 2021. Some revamps on Falling Pianos are slowly crawling along, and I still think it will be out in final form this year. Cracks in the Edifice and Rain Inside a Room still near completion, little by little. The biggest addition to my work is the Fyra Oyer franchise, an online game and more that I am the Lead Writer and Director of Narrative Design for.
Happy Halloween 2019! Lots of change coming- a new novel is near completion, as well as a third for 2020. "Cracks in the Edifice" is due for alpha readers January 2020, while the previously announced second novel has now become my number three (it is such a hardcore, deep beast of a ghost story, I had to do something else to clear my mind in-between- guess that 'something else' wanted to nudge in faster than expected!). The newly re-titled "The Rain Inside a Room" is now due June, 2020. Speaking of name changes, "Everything Old is New Again" is now "Falling Pianos", per the nudging, urging, and downright walloping by those in the publishing and writing community. It's beginning to grow on me- new covers soon, and anyone interested in reading draft 8- the final beta version before publication, drop me a line!
Happy Halloween 2018! While EOiNA is in Draft 7.2, work is underway on my newest novel, ---------. Stay tuned for updates and more!
Happy Halloween 2017! Draft 7 of Everything Old is New Again is officially released as of today, so please drop me a line if you'd like a copy- all that is available is electronic currently (PDF), leading up to professional publication. Those that received the professionally bound copies of draft 6, thank you very much for your input- it has gone far in creating the newest draft and I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks for looking past and/or editing errors I lost my brain and didn't catch!
